Indian Railways – What are micro fractures in the railway track? Set 3 hours block, know the contribution of IIT Bombay, Railway Minister in Lok Sabha said – Railway Tracks Being Kept Vacant Few Hours Every Day for Track Maintenance Ashwini Vaishnaw Ntc

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday, March 19, that the railway track in the entire country is being kept vacant every day for a few hours to ensure proper maintenance of rail tracks. The Railway Minister said in the Lok Sabha, “The tracks and wheels are made of steel and trains run at a speed of 70 to 100 kilometers per hour, so the tracks are often damaged, resulting in micro fractures.”

Ashwini Vaishnav further said, “If we do not repair micro fractures over time, then there will be more increase in fracture incidents, which can be the cause of train accidents. So a few hours of 24 hours will be maintained.”

He said that due to continuous running of trains, there is micro fractures in the track. IIT Bombay research and created a timetable, after which the track is maintained by putting 3 hours blocks in each section. For this, some vehicles were stopped and stops were also reduced.

Congress MP KC Venugopal had asked the question in the Lok Sabha whether the train stoppages closed during the government epidemic are being resumed. In response to the question, the Railway Minister said, “Track maintenance is the reason why some trains have been stagned and some trains are being regulated. It has nothing to do with Kovid epidemic.”

Ashwini Vaishnav said that after the study by IIT Bombay, a tough decision was taken in the year 2018 and the time table was made in such a way that three hours were kept for maintenance.

Referring to the time limit, he said that the result has also come out, which was very good. 2500 fractures have been reduced to less than 250 with frequent maintenance of tracks.
