The police investigating the violence had also revealed that a crowd of miscreants was gathered 5 hours after the VHP demonstration during the day. It is feared that people were gathered under the scheme and an atmosphere was created to attack the police. The biggest contribution of the rumor was that social media tried to spread.

The Nagpur police has registered a case against five others, including Faheem Khan, the main accused in the violence, for spreading the wrong information on social media. He said that these six people are among the 50 accused against whom the cyber department has lodged four FIRs regarding the violence on Monday. DCP Cybercrime Lohit Matani said that the cyber cell has sought information about 230 profiles from Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube officials.

The DSP said that as soon as the cyber cell gets information, the accused will be identified and arrested. The rumor of the violence of holy inscriptions during the protests led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to demand the removal of the grave of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Monday became the first reason for violence. During this time, about 33 policemen, including three officers of DCP rank, were injured.

He said that Faheem Khan edited a video of the protest against Aurangzeb’s grave and broadcast him (on social media). He also shared videos of the glory of violence. A police officer said that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has put tin sheets on two sides of Aurangzeb’s tomb in Khultabad as per the instructions of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district administration. He told that a circular fence will also be installed around the tomb.
