Army occupied Sudan’s Rashtrapati Bhavan, will the war stop now? Watch VIDEO – SUDAN Army Recaptures President from RSF Fighters after Two Years of War NTCPRK
Sudan’s army said on Friday that it had again captured the Rashtrapati Bhavan ‘Republican Palace’ in Khartum after almost two years of fighting. The building was previously captured by the rival paramilitary forces of the army, which was kept under heavy security supervision.
In the video released on social media, Sudani soldiers captured Rashtrapati Bhavan. An official of the Sudani army announced in the video that his authority over Rashtrapati Bhavan was re -established on the 21st day of Ramadan, the holy month of Islam. He told that the soldier is present inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Talking about Rashtrapati Bhavan, it had partially turned into ruins. The soldiers were seen climbing on the broken tiles and going inside the building. Sainiks were shouting slogans for the assault rifles and rocket-propal grenade launchers, ‘Allah is great.’
Sudan’s Information Minister Khalid al-Asar said in a post on the social platform X that the army has again captured the palace.
He wrote, ‘Today the flag has been hoisted, the palace is back and the journey will continue till the victory is over.’
Capturing Rashtrapati Bhavan a big achievement for Sudan’s army
The Republican Palace capture is another achievement in the battlefield for Sudan’s army. In recent months, under the leadership of Army Chief General Abdel-Fatah Burhan, Sudan’s army had made big efforts to capture the building. This building, situated on the banks of the Nile River, was used for government work before the war started. The building has also been printed on Sudani Banknotes and postage stamps.
The war of Sudan began in April 2023 between the Army and the country’s paramilitary force Rapid Support Forces (RSF). RSF is being led by General Mohammad Hamdan. The occupation of the Rashtrapati Bhavan means that the RSF has ended control of most parts of the capital. On Friday, the sounds of sporadic firing were heard in the entire capital, although it was not clear whether the firing was part of the fight or the army was firing bullets as a celebration.
The RSF has not accepted the removal of control from Rashtrapati Bhavan and the battle of Sudan is still going to continue as RSF and its allies are still occupying many areas of Sudan.
Late on Thursday night, RSF claimed that it had captured Sudani city al-Maliha. Al-Maliha Chad and Libya have a strategic desert city in North Darfur near the borders. Sudan’s army has accepted the fight around Al-Maliha, but it is not said that the city has gone out of his hand.
The head of the United Nations Children Agency has said that Sudan’s struggle has created the world’s largest and humanitarian crisis.
More than 28,000 people have been killed in the Sudan war, millions of people have been forced to leave their homes. Sudan is also struggling with a huge famine, due to which many families have been forced to eat grass to stay alive.
