However, a new twist in this development came when Delhi Fire Brigade chief Atul Garg claimed that fire personnel did not get any cash at Justice Verma’s residence. Garg said that at 11.35 pm on March 14, the control room was reported to be on fire at Verma’s residence and two fire engines were immediately sent to the spot. Fire brigade reached the spot at 11.43 pm. The fire was in a store room filled with stationery and household items. It took 15 minutes to control the fire. There were no casualties. Soon after extinguishing the fire, we informed the police about the fire incident. After that the team of personnel of the fire department left the spot. Our personnel did not get any cash while extinguishing the fire.

After this incident, there was a stir all over the country and many people demanded the resignation of the judge. Some people also criticized the transfer decision. The echo of this incident was also heard in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

Justice Verma did not reach court on Friday

Justice Verma also did not reach the court on Friday. Neither came a statement from his side. The court master said, the bench is on leave on Friday. An essential case can be mentioned before the other bench. Justice Verma is currently presiding over the bench hearing important cases like sales tax, GST, company appeal in Delhi High Court. Verma, the second most senior judge in the Delhi High Court, was appointed here on 11 October 2021.

Supreme Court said- rumors are being spread

At present, Justice Yashwant Verma is being sent back to the Allahabad High Court from the Delhi High Court, but it is not yet known how much cash was received at his Delhi house? The website of Delhi High Court shows that Justice Verma enrolled as an advocate on August 8, 1992. He was appointed an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court on 13 October 2014. He was sworn in as a permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court on 1 February 2016.
