The All India Representative Assembly of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has passed a resolution against the oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh and has called for a solidarity with the Hindu community in Bangladesh. The RSS has demanded the United Nations to intervene on this issue.

The resolution passed by the House of Representatives states that human rights are being violated against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, on which the Representative Assembly expresses its concern. The population of Hindus in Bangladesh has come down from 22 percent to 7 percent in 1951.

Serious case of human rights abuses

It is written in the proposal, ‘The All India Representatives Assembly, Hindu and other minority communities in Bangladesh express deep concern over the continuous violence, injustice and harassment caused by Islamic fundamentalist elements on Hindu and other minority communities. This is clearly a serious matter of human rights abuses.

Most of the afflicted Hindus in Bangladesh

It reads, ‘During the reversal of the present power in Bangladesh, many incidents like attacks on monasteries, temples, Durga Puja pandals and educational institutions, disrespect of idols, murders, property robbery, kidnapping and atrocities, rape, forced conversion are continuously coming out. Describing these incidents only political and denying their religious side will be like turning away from truth because most of the victims are from Hindus and other minorities.

Appeal to interfere with UN

The proposal states, ‘Some international powers are deliberately trying to create instability by creating an atmosphere of mistrust and confrontation in the neighboring areas of India. The House of Representatives is of the opinion that international organizations such as United Nations and global community should take serious cognizance of inhuman behavior with Hindu and other minority communities in Bangladesh and pressurize the Bangladesh government to stop these violent activities.
