‘Our identity will be in danger …’, Stalin, Vijayan, Revant, Patnaik and Maan on delimitation in Chennai – Meeting on DELIMITATION TAMIL NADU CHNNAI MK STALIN P VIJAYAN Revanth Reddy Naveen Patnaik Bhagwant Mann Ntc
Political debate has intensified regarding the proposed delimitation of Lok Sabha seats. On Saturday, the ruling DMK of Tamil Nadu called a meeting of the first joint action committee of the states. In this, Chief Minister MK Stalin clarified that this fight can also be brought under the legal purview. CM Stalin supported setting up an expert panel to prepare a political and legal action plan. At the same time, the BJP protested against the Stalin government for organizing the delimitation meeting.
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin said, the delimitation will affect the states that have successfully implemented the family scheme, so we are opposing it. Manipur has been burning for two years but his voice is not being heard. Because they do not have MPs to listen to them. Losing representation will lose rights over money and laws. Students, women, farmers will be affected. This will threaten the identity. We will not have political rights in our own country.
‘We are in favor of fair permission’
He proposed to name the panel as ‘Joint Action Committee for Fair Dilimitation’ and sought suggestions to initiate legal action, furthering the political battle. He said- We are not against delimitation. We are in favor of fair delimitation. He further said, continuous action is very important to establish rights.
‘So there will be a loss of eight seats’
He said, if it is implemented, Tamil Nadu will lose eight seats. Earlier, many states have come together on this issue. I propose to name this meeting ‘fair delimitation joint action committee’. On the Joint Action Committee, he said, it is very important to create awareness among the people and urge the Center. Stalin emphasized the united fight to win. He said, our representation should not be reduced.
‘Perseem should not be done on the basis of population’
On the delimitation meeting in Chennai, Naveen Patnaik said, this is an important meeting to protect democracy. If the southern states had not controlled the population, the nation would have faced a serious crisis. Permination should not be applied on the basis of population census. I thank CM Stalin for holding a meeting.
‘This inspired by narrow political interests’
In the meeting, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats is hanging like a sword of Democals. He alleged that the BJP government is moving forward on this issue without any consultation. P Vijayan said, this step has been taken suddenly, which is not inspired by constitutional principles or democratic imperatives, but inspired by narrow political interests. If delimited after the census, seats will increase for the northern states, while in the southern states, its number will be reduced. Such cuts in seats for South and increase in seats for north will be favorable to BJP. Because it has more influence in the north.
‘We can’t accept Parsiman’
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, South will not accept population -based delimitation. In terms of population -based delimitation, the north (northern state) will make us a second -class citizen. Today there is a big challenge before the country. The BJP is implementing the policy of demography penalty. We are a country. We respect it, but we cannot accept this proposed delimitation. Because it will limit us politically. This will punish us for being a performing state. We have to stop the BJP from implementing any unfair delimitation.
‘We protected national interests’
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar said, “We cannot disappoint our country at any cost and our seats cannot be reduced.” He claimed that South India has always retained census rules and family planning policies, making it a progressive area. He said, we have always worked forward in terms of financial and literacy. We have always protected the national interest.
Bhagwant Mann gave this argument …
In the delimitation meeting, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said, BJP wants to increase seats where it wins and wants to reduce seats where she loses.
14 leaders of 5 states arrived in JAC meeting
Earlier, the first Joint Working Committee (JAC) meeting on delimitation was held under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin. The meeting was attended by 14 leaders from five states and they discussed the ‘danger’ generated by the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats for high economic development and literacy states. The leaders who attended the meeting include Kerala CM P Vijayan, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Shiromani Akali Dal Executive Chairman Balwinder Singh Bhundar and Indian Union Muslim League Kerala General Secretary PMA Salaam. Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal and Punjab are seven states where the DMK contacted for the meeting.
BJP described it as a meeting hiding corruption
The BJP protested by showing black flags of this meeting. The BJP targeted Stalin for not calling similar meetings on Karnataka and Kerala on the disputes of Cauvery and Mullaperiyar water-sharing. BJP leader Tamilisai Sundararajan described it as a meeting hiding corruption by the concerned leaders.
BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan said, DMK is trying to divert public attention from corrupt, unsuccessful, disastrous misrule. Keshavan said, Divisional politics of DMK to spread fear, mislead people and give wrong information will be heavy on him.
Former Telangana Governor and senior BJP leader Tamilisai Sundararajan said, “Opposition has been protested through the black flag to protect the interests of the people of Tamil Nadu.” He asked Stalin whether he had a meeting with the leaders of Karnataka and Kerala to solve the Cauvery problem and the Mullaperiyar dam issue. The delimitation has not been announced and not a single word has been called by the central government. Home Minister Amit Shah came to Coimbatore. He had clarified that Tamil Nadu would not be affected. If the Home Minister has made it clear, then on what basis are you meeting this meeting. This meeting is being organized to hide allegations of corruption and divide the people of the country.
He claimed, the concerned CMs who are participating in the meeting are doing so to hide misrule in the respective states. There are many allegations of corruption in Telangana, Kerala. Their own people will be against taking part in this program of their CM. He said, instead of calling it a delimitation meeting, it can be called a meeting hiding corruption.
Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai said, “Instead of discussing the rights of Tamil Nadu state with other states, CM Stalin is doing political plays.” He said, Karnataka is adamant on making Mekadatu. Stalin has shamelessly invited DK Shivkumar. DMK is raising this fictional issue to divert attention from issues like sexual harassment against women. Kerala is dumping garbage in Tamil Nadu. How can there be different ratios for southern states and northern states?
