’25 years and postponement to the SC, amendment to the Constitution …’, 7 -nutritional proposal of Stalin Pass Pass – Three Language Controversy Tamil Nadu DMK and Joint Action Committee Jac Resolution 7 Points NTC

During the meeting held in Chennai under the DMK meeting, the Giant Action Committee has passed a 7 -point resolution on the issue of delimitation. The committee expressed concern that there is a lack of transparency and clarity in the adjacent delimitation process, and the shareholders who were involved in it were not discussed with the states.

1. Transparency needs: JAC proposed that the process of any delimitation to be done by the Central Government to improve democracy should be done in a transparent manner. It should include political parties, state governments and other stakeholders of all states.

2. Emphasis on constitution amendment: JAC said the legislative intention behind the 42nd, 84th and 87th constitutional amendments was to protect and encourage states that have effectively implemented population control measures. Therefore, the limit of parliamentary constituencies based on the 1971 census should be extended for 25 more years.

3. States should not be punished: Those who have effectively implemented the state population control program and whose part of the population has decreased should not be punished. The central government will have to make necessary constitutional amendments for this.

4. Parliamentary Strategy: Representative Core Committee of MPs of the states will co-ordinate parliamentary strategies against any opposite delimitation by the central government.

5. Combined representation: Core Committee MPs will present joint representation in this context to the Prime Minister of India during the current parliamentary session.

6. Assembly Proposal: Political parties of various states representing in the meeting will try to bring a proposal in their respective states in the appropriate assembly and will convey it to the central government.

7. Public Awareness Campaign: JAC will also try to spread the necessary delimitation on the history and reference of pre-delimited delimitation practice among citizens in their respective states and adopt a coordinated referendum on the results of proposed delimitation.
