The name of the accused woman is Aarti. She told the police that her husband Jitendra Singh had died 4 years ago.

Her father -in -law Patiram (63) was employees in the Department of Health and Family Welfare and had now retired. He was not willing to give his daughter -in -law a share in the property. A police officer said the incident took place on Friday when Patiram, who lives in Govindapuram Colony of Kavi Nagar area, wrongly touched his daughter -in -law Aarti in the house. Aarti alleged that her father -in -law Patiram had illicit relations with several women. He also said that Patiram was not ready to give him a share in his property.

The accused woman alleged in her confession in front of the police, ‘A month ago, I captured the ground floor of the house following a court order. On the morning of 21 March, when I was sweeping the house, my father -in -law came close and touched me wrongly, but I kept quiet. Aarti claimed that when his father -in -law returned home in the evening, he forcibly started opening the door of his room, he stabbed his head with a cricket bat thrice.

According to the accused woman, after killing the bat, her father -in -law tried to escape, but she grabbed her collar, pulled her inside the room and hit her twice. After this, Patiram fell and he died on the spot. Aarti confessed her crime and said that she hid the bat used in the attack, erased blood stains and changed her clothes to erase evidence. DCP (City) Rajesh Kumar said that a case was registered at Kavi Nagar Police Station on the basis of the complaint of village watchman Malkhan Singh, after which the woman was arrested.
