Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has defended the statement of his party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman. There was a political ruckus after Suman’s ruler of Mewar, who was the ruler of Mewar in Parliament, was called a ‘traitor’. The BJP described this statement of the SP MP as an insult to the Hindu community and accused Akhilesh Yadav of appeasement politics.

During his speech in the Rajya Sabha on March 21, Ramjilal Suman said that Indian Muslims do not consider Babur as their ideal, but they follow Prophet Muhammad and Sufi traditions. He had raised the question that who brought Babur to India? “It was Rana Sanga who invited Babur to defeat Ibrahim Lodi.”

History and insult to Hindu society

On supporting Akhilesh Yadav’s statement of Akhilesh Yadav, BJP said that it is an insult to Indian history and Hindu society. BJP leaders and Hindu organizations are protesting against efforts to glorify Aurangzeb, and Hindu organizations are demanding to remove the tomb of Auranzeb.

Akhilesh Yadav targeted the BJP and said that “If BJP leaders can turn the pages of history, Ramjilal Suman has mentioned a page of history. We did not write a history of 200 years ago.” He appealed to the BJP not to investigate history in a selective manner.

Shivaji’s consecration was done with toe

Referring to Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation, Akhilesh Yadav reminded that at that time he was anointed not by hand but with a left toe and asked if the BJP would apologize on it today?

BJP leader Amit Malviya retaliated at Akhilesh Yadav and accused that he was engaged in appeasement politics and is supporting Suman’s statement.

At the same time, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded SP MP Suman’s statement as shameful and demanded an apology from him. Union Minister and BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has also condemned Suman’s remarks.
