Mp news: A sudden fire broke out in Kamalaraja Hospital of Jayarogya Hospital Group in Gwalior late night. The incident took place at around 1 pm at the Labor Room’s Gynecology ICU, where the air conditioner was blasted due to a short circuit. After this, the fire spread on seeing it. During this period, a total of 22 patients were admitted in the ICU and the surrounding wards, while about 100 patients were present in the labor room and 50 in the Pediatrics ward.

After the fire, there was smoke in the hospital, causing panic among the patients and their families. Due to the promptness of the hospital administration and medical staff, all the patients were safely taken out.

The guard and ward boys of the hospital with fire safety training immediately shifted the patients to the safe super specialty hospital. When the situation deteriorated, ventilation was arranged by breaking the mesh of the windows of the ward. As soon as the information was received, the fire department team reached the spot and after hard work, the fire was controlled.

On receiving the information of the incident, Collector Ruchika Chauhan, SDM Vinod Singh, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Saxena and other administrative officials reached the spot. In view of the seriousness of the incident, the Collector has ordered an inquiry into it. All the patients admitted to the labor unit and surrounding wards have been shifted to the Super Specialty Hospital with the help of ambulances. The team of doctors and medical students took fast action and took the patients to safe places.

Initial investigation has revealed that the fire was caused by a short circuit. However, the hospital administration is now trying to find out where there was a decrease in security arrangements and what steps should be taken to prevent such incidents in future. At present, the situation in the hospital is normal, but this incident has again raised questions on security arrangements in hospitals.
