The outer walls of the mosque are being painted by the painters. This painting is being done in view of Eid. A petition was filed in the Allahabad High Court regarding the dyeing of the mosque. Accepting the petition, the Allahabad High Court had allowed the dyeing and painting of outside walls only.

Professional painters are sent from Delhi

On Saturday, a team of ASI arrived to inspect the western part of the mosque. Two professional painters from Delhi have arrived for the dyeing of the mosque. Painters said that we will work carefully while following the court orders, so that the structure does not suffer any kind of damage.

Allahabad High Court gave this order

The Allahabad High Court had partly accepted the petition of the Masjid Committee and allowed the dyeing of external walls only. The court had directed that lights could be installed on the exterior of the mosque, but no structural change is allowed. A single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal has set the next hearing of the case on 8 April.

Prior to the onset of Ramadan, the Masjid Committee had sought permission from the administration and ASI for dyeing-painting, which was earlier rejected. Subsequently, the committee approached the High Court, from where they got partial relief.
