Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday announced a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of Ramcharan Gautam, Assistant Sub -Inspector (ASI) of the police, who was killed in a mob attack in Mauganj district. The Chief Minister said that Gautam will be given martyr status, as he was killed during duty. He said that a member of his family will be given a government job.
In fact, on Saturday, a group of tribals killed a kidnapped person and then attacked the police team trying to save him, resulting in ASI in Gadra village, about 25 km from the district headquarters.
CM Yadav said that ASI posted in the 25th Battalion of the Special Armed Forces will be given martyr status to sacrifice his life. Financial assistance of one crore rupees will be provided to the late Gautam’s family and their eligible successor will be accommodated in government service. The state government always bows his head to its brave sons.
The funeral of the policeman was performed in Gulua Powaiya village in Satna district. Elder son Sunil Gautam lit the father’s pyre. State Government Minister Pratima Bagdi and senior officials attended the funeral. Gautam has three sons and two daughters.
