Kannada actress Ranya Rao, arrested in the gold smuggling case from Dubai, confessed during her bail hearing that she had transferred money through hawala to buy gold.
Advocate Madhu Rao, who appeared in the court on behalf of the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI), said in his argument that the accused has admitted to financial transactions through informally.
