In Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh, a case of fraud of Rs 1.5 crore has come to light from a chartered accountant. At present, the police has also arrested a person in the case. While four other accused are being searched. A police officer gave this information to a news agency.

Police said on Monday that one person has been arrested for cheating Rs 1.5 crore from Chartered Accountant, while efforts are on to catch the remaining four accused. Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik said that Pankaj, Ashish, Manish and Sachin had met Chartered Accountant Anand Dubey through the victim’s relative Manoj Dubey.

These five, including Manoj Dubey, deposited Rs 1.5 crore from Anand Dubey to run a crusher machine and toll booth in Bhadohi and said that soon the money will be returned. This money was transferred to the account of the accused between 17 September 2023 to 25 November 2023. However, after a few days passed, when Anand Dubey asked for money from him, the accused refused and threatened them.

After which the CA lodged a police complaint against the five people at Gyanpur police station on 9 July 2024. After this, a case was registered against the five accused under various sections of IPC. The SP said that Manish was arrested from Amwa flyover of Gopiganj police station on Monday and sent to jail, while the remaining four accused are being raided to arrest.
