Congress Distance RJD Iftar Party – Is everything fine in the grand alliance? Why did Congress make distance from Lalu’s Iftar party, RJD tussle with RJD! – Why Congress distances from Lalu Yadav Iftar Party is Muslim Vote Bank Create Tussle with RJD Ntyc
During Ramadan, the tradition of organizing the Dawat-e-Iftar by political parties in Bihar continued uninterrupted this year. JDU President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar organized an Iftar party on 23 March, a day later, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav organized Iftar party. Lalu’s Iftar party was attended by Muslim organizations, leaders of leftist parties and some Congress MLAs. However, senior Congress leader and Vikas Human Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni kept distance from the event.
Lalu Prasad Yadav has traditionally been organizing Iftar party on his official residence 10 Circular Road. But this year the event was held at the residence of senior RJD leader and Legislative Council member Abdul Bari Siddiqui at 12 Strand Road. Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shivanand Tiwari and many RJD MLAs were present in it. Leaders of leftist parties involved in the Grand Alliance were also present. Congress MLA Pratima Das was present, but senior Congress leaders including Bihar in -charge Krishna Allavaru were not present.
Why Lalu’s distance from Iftar party?
After this, questions are arising whether everything is going well between the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress Party in Bihar? Political analysts believe that the politics of grand alliance in Bihar has been revolving around Lalu Prasad Yadav for a long time. However, the Congress is now focusing on strengthening its organizational structure in the state, which may be the reason for the absence of its leadership from the event. Since assuming the charge of Bihar Congress, Krishna Allavaru has not yet met Lalu Prasad. Even the new state president of the Congress Rajesh Kumar did not understand the need to meet Lalu after taking over, which indicates a possible conflict between the two parties.

In such a situation, the question arises whether the Congress is changing its strategy? Is this an attempt to pressurize the RJD or is the Congress preparing to take itself on a separate path? Pawan Kheda, Chairman of the Congress Media and Publicity Department, held a press conference on March 23 with the leaders of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee in Patna, in which he said that our goal is to bring the Congress to the state of 1990 in the state. On this statement of Pawan Kheda, a journalist questioned that the Congress in Bihar was in government on its own around 1990, so is it considering contesting elections alone in the upcoming elections? Kheda avoided this question. It also indicates that everything is not going well between the Congress and the RJD in Bihar.
Tussle is increasing the claim of Muslim votes?
Iftar parties by political parties in Bihar have been a political strategy for a long time. Muslims are the main vote bank of RJD in the state, which is why Lalu Prasad leaves no chance for such events. Muslims and Yadav vote banks called MY equations in short, on the strength of this, RJD remains a big political force in Bihar. The Congress knows that if it has to re -establish itself in Bihar politics, then it will also have to create a solid vote bank. Therefore, the Congress wants to do Dalits and Muslims in its court. If the Congress remains the hanger of the RJD, then it can never get back its lost mass base in Bihar. That is why she is changing her strategy.

Bihar has 17% Muslim voters. It is believed that the Muslim community collectively vote. The Congress would not like to let such a big vote bank go into the court of RJD. Anyway, at the national level, the Congress has been getting large quantity of Muslim votes. There are 32 seats in Bihar, which have more than 30% Muslim voters. Most of these seats are from North East Bihar bordering Nepal and Bengal. Congress is not ready to contest less than 70 seats in Bihar. Many senior leaders of Bihar Congress have said that no party involved in the grand alliance is big and small. Parties with equal ideology are involved in this. This time the Congress wants an equal share of RJD in Muslim -dominated seats.
Congress claims 70 seats in Bihar
The Congress has made it clear that this time the party will try to get more likely seats in the seat sharing among the constituents of the Grand Alliance. Although there has been no discussion on seat sharing among the parties involved in the Grand Alliance, but it is so clear that the Congress will focus on winning more and more seats this time. The Congress was able to win only 19 seats in 70 in the 2020 elections. The Congress was attributed to the defeat of the Grand Alliance. However, NDA is in a very strong position on 45 of the 70 seats she contested. The Congress was continuously losing these seats due to the last four elections of Bihar. At the same time, many traditional seats of Congress came in the part of the Left, which benefited them and their performance was better. Earlier, in the 2015 Bihar assembly elections, the Congress fielded 41 seats candidates and won 27.
