Pakistan has sought clarification from Afghanistan regarding contact with handlers located in Afghanistan, the attackers involved in the Jafar Express Hijack amid recently increased terrorist attacks in the country. Pakistani media gave this information on Monday.
However, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry has not issued any official statement on the matter. According to a report by Pakistani news channel Jio TV, sources said that the Taliban’s charge de affair Sardar Ahmed Shakib was called a strong protest by calling Islamabad’s Foreign Office and strong objections were raised to the use of Afghan land for this attack.
Bla had hijack the train
Last week, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) rebels attacked the Jafar Express and hijacked the train. The fighters blew the railway track from the explosion and took 440 passengers hostage. According to Pak media, 33 rebels were killed by the Pakistani Army during the operation, while more than 30 hostages were killed by the rebels.
‘Conspiracy for attacks from Afghanistan’
Giving information to the media after the operation, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary had revealed that the rebels were in touch with their handlers sitting in Afghanistan. He said, ‘We have strong intelligence information that the plot of these attacks is being hatched from Afghanistan.’
Chaudhary said that a prominent rebel involved in the attack has previously worked in the Afghan army and is now involved in terrorist activities against Pakistan. Pakistan has been continuously appealing to Kabul that Afghanistan’s land should not be allowed to be used for terrorism against Pakistan.
Doha agreement reminded Taliban messenger
This appeal is also certified by the data of the recently released Global Terrorism Index 2025 report, stating that after the Taliban rule, terrorist incidents in Pakistan have increased and Tehreek-e-TTP Pakistan (TTP) is getting the benefit of secured refuge in Afghanistan and more freedom than before.
According to the report, in a conversation with Kabul’s messenger Shakib, Pakistani officials reminded the Taliban of his international commitment, in which he promised under Doha Agreement that he would not allow his land to be used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
Pakistan has not recognized Taliban rule
Pakistan told the Afghan representative that a terrorist organization announced by the United Nations has carried out this attack from the land of Afghanistan. Let us know that Pakistan does not officially recognize the Taliban rule of Kabul, but it has allowed the Taliban’s diplomatic representative to work in Pakistan.
