Police recruitment board gave cleanliness itself

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has issued an official statement on this. The board has clarified that no candidate is declared successful or unsuccessful only on the basis of their surname or title. The caste certificates of all the selected candidates are examined by the competent authorities and a fully valid procedure is adopted.

How is caste certificates examined?

The Police Recruitment Board said that the caste certificates of all the candidates are verified by the officials of the concerned district administration. The first caste certificates are examined on the basis of documents. After this, the document verification (DV) board formed to examine the certificates, which consists of officers of the Deputy Collector (SDM) level and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) level, conducts proper tests of the basic caste certificate of the candidates. Here the candidates are declared successful only after the certificate is found correct.
Before issuing appointment letters, the appointment of the selected candidates is made by the Superintendent of Police of the district.

What is the caste of Pankaj Pandey and Shivani Upadhyay

Questions are being raised on social media about the selection of Pankaj Pandey and Shivani Upadhyay in the OBC category. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has clarified that Pankaj Pandey’s caste certificate shows that he is from ‘Gosai’ caste, which comes under the OBC class. Similarly, Shivani Upadhyay’s caste certificate shows the ‘Jogi’ caste, which is included in the OBC category. The board says that in this way, both candidates have been selected on the basis of completely valid and certified documents.

The board has also warned that making caste comments without proof not only hurts the honor of the candidates, but it can also be a legal offense. If a person has any concrete and authentic information related to the caste certificate of a particular candidate, then he can inform the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board’s email [email protected].

The board also said that necessary legal action can be taken against those who spread rumors on social media. Therefore, the general public has been requested not to share any kind of misleading and unconfirmed information without proof nor cooperate in broadcasting it further.

60,244 posts were conducted

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) took a written examination on 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 August 2024 for direct recruitment-2023 posts for 60244 posts. This was followed by physical standard test and physical efficiency test. The final result was released just before Holi. According to the merit list released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), 24102 candidates have been selected in the General category. Similarly, 6024 candidates have been selected in EWS category, 16264 in OBC, 12650 in SC and 1204 in ST category.
