Tripura police, taking a major action against the drug, seized a banned Yaba tablet worth Rs 5.5 crore. Three smugglers have been arrested in this connection. According to the police, a raid was conducted in a hotel on the basis of secret information, during which 1.10 lakh Yaba tablets were recovered from there.

According to the agency, West Tripura Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar said that the police had received secret information that some suspects were staying in the hotel. They have large amounts of banned drugs. After this, the police team raided the hotel on Friday night and recovered 1.10 lakh Yaba tablet from a trolley bag. The price of the recovered tablets in the international market has been estimated at around Rs 5.5 crore.

What is Yaba Tablet?

Yaba tablet, also known as ‘Crazy Drug’, is a intoxicating substance. It contains a mixture of methmfetamine and caffeine, which makes it highly intoxicated and dangerous. This drug is completely banned in India, as it can pose a serious threat to health.

According to the police, the three accused arrested are residents of Kamalpur subdivision of Tripura. During interrogation, it was also found that one of these accused was already wanted in drug trafficking cases. At present, interrogation is going on for the three in custody.

The police is trying to find out from where this consignment came from and where to be supplied. Officials say that other people associated with this drug business are also being searched and this network will be busted soon.
