London’s Heathrow Airport on Friday announced that it would remain closed for about 24 hours, as the power supply has been disrupted due to fire in a nearby electrical substation. All flights visiting the airport have been canceled. Announcing the airport, the airport said, “Due to a fire in an electrical substation supplying electricity to the airport, there is a huge reduction of electricity in Heathro.”
The notification issued further stated that to maintain the safety of our passengers and colleagues, Heathro will remain closed till 23:59 pm on 21 March. Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport and contact your airline for more information. We are sorry for inconvenience. ”
However, the spokesperson said that it is not clear when the operation will start at the airport.
