Pakistani security forces on Thursday thwarted the attack on an outpost in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to the agency, the army’s media wing said on Thursday that during this time 10 terrorists including a suicide bomber were killed.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists tried to attack the outpost in the tank’s Jandola area, which was chased by the security forces. He said that a suicide bomber blew himself up in a vehicle near the Frontier Corps Camp.

Pakistani army campaigned

ISPR said that security personnel bravely faced terrorists and stopped the attackers effectively from moving towards the outpost. After a fierce firing, Pakistani troops launched a campaign, killing 10 militants, including suicide bomber.

The attack took place a day after the security forces killed all the 33 attackers who hijacked the Jafar Express train in Balochistan and hostage of passengers in the hilly area.

According to data released by the think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICS), in January 2025, there was a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in the country, which is 42 percent more than the previous month. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the worst affected province, followed by Balochistan.
