Punjab Amritsar Temple Explosion Suspect Encounter: The suspected accused of an explosion outside a temple in Amritsar, Punjab, was killed in an encounter with the police. Whereas, a second suspect accused managed to escape, which the police is running a search operation to catch it. The police have identified both the suspects.

In fact, an explosion occurred on March 15 outside the Amritsar Thakur Gate temple, when a person threw an explosive equipment towards the temple, causing a part of the temple wall to damage and the windows were broken. Since then, the police had started searching for the accused involved in this incident.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar told PTI that the suspect killed in the encounter has been identified as Gursidak Singh, a resident of village, while the second suspect who was absconding has been identified as Vishal, a resident of Rajasansi.

Sharing the information, the police commissioner said that the police team asked the suspects on the motorcycle to stop, but they fired bullets on the policemen. In his firing, head constable Gurpreet Singh was shot in his left hand, while a bullet was fired in the turban of Inspector Amolak Singh.

During this, the accused fired five rounds on the police team, in response to which the police team fired in self -defense. In which Gursidak Singh was injured and later died, while Vishal managed to escape, Police Commissioner Bhullar said that efforts are on to arrest him.

According to the police, Gursidak Singh was involved in two cases of snatching at the tip of the gun and was recently released from jail. Vishal has a case of attempt to murder. Earlier, Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav said that while taking action on the basis of special intelligence information, the Amritsar police have traced the people responsible for the attack on the temple.

Punjab Police Director General Yadav said in a post on X, ‘Police teams have traced the suspects in Rajasansi. The accused fired, in which HC Gurpreet Singh was injured and Inspector Amolak Singh’s turban broke.

The DGP said, “Acting in self -defense, the police party fired back, in which the accused was injured. He was rushed to the civil hospital, where he later died. The other accused ran away from the spot, and efforts are on to arrest him.”

The handiwork of the accused was captured in a CCTV camera. In CCTV camera footage, two unknown people appeared on a motorcycle towards the temple. After stopping for a few seconds, one of them was seen throwing explosive equipment towards the temple and later both fled from the scene.

The Punjab Police has said that it suspects the role of Pakistan’s Steering Agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in the attack. Although there were no casualties in the incident, the explosion caused panic among the residents of Khandwala area of ​​Amritsar.
