Sambhal’s royal Jama Masjid will start dyeing soon, ASI team reviewed western part
The dyeing-painting work in Sambhal’s Shahi Jama Masjid Sambhal is ready to start soon. Regarding this, the team of ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) has inspected the mosque. Explain that this step has been taken after the recent order of the Allahabad High Court, which allowed dyeing and painting on the outer walls of the mosque.
According to the information, today a team of ASI arrived to inspect the western part of the mosque, where the work of dyeing and pain may start soon. Earlier, two professional painters from Delhi arrived at the mosque, including painter Farman. The Allahabad High Court had partly accepted the petition of the Masjid Committee and allowed the dyeing of external walls only. The court had directed that lights could be installed on the exterior of the mosque, but no structural change is allowed. A single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal has set the next hearing of the case on 8 April.
Prior to the onset of Ramadan, the Masjid Committee had sought permission from the administration and ASI for dyeing-painting, which was earlier rejected. Subsequently, the committee approached the High Court, from where they got partial relief. After this decision, the Masjid Committee planned to start the process of dyeing.
