Sunita Williams, Buch Wilmore, Nick Heg and Alexander Gorbunov are returning to the earth through Spacex’s Spaskraft Dragon. Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore started their mission at the International Space Station on 6 June 2024. Nick Hague and Alexander Gorbunov arrived at the station on 29 September 2024. Now they are returning home to SpaceX’s Dragon Freedom vehicle.
US space agency NASA has chosen Spacex’s Dragon Crew Capsule for this work. This capsule has been launched 49 times since its formation. Dragon Capsule has traveled to the International Space Station 44 times. Reflight has been reflted 29 times. This capsule has a seating arrangement of seven astronauts at a time.

This is the world’s first private spacecraft, which has been constantly bringing astronauts and cargo at the space station. The weight of empty capsules is 7700 kg. When it is launched with cargo and astronauts, its maximum weight capacity is 12,500 kg.
It can provide weight of up to 6000 kg in an orbit. It can deliver or bring back 3307 kg to the space station. Usually 2 to 4 astronauts sit in it.

Emergency can come back with seven astronauts
In the emergency emergency emergency, seven astronauts can be seated in it. If it flies in the lower orbit of the earth only on its own, then it can remain in space for 10 days. But if connected to the space station, it can remain in space for 210 days.
So far 12 dragon capsules have been created
The height of the dragon crew capsules is 15 feet. But by mixing the propulsion system below, its height becomes 26.7 feet. There is a diameter of 13 feet and a width of 12 feet inside the capsule. Spacex has created many variants of it. So far 12 capsules have been made. 6 crew, 3 cargo and 3 prototypes.
8 dragon capsules are operational, for four astronauts
At present, a total of 8 dragon capsules are operational. Of which four are crew capsules i.e. to deliver and bring astronauts to space stations. Three cargo capsules i.e. for goods. A prototype. Three capsules have retired, with one crew and two prototypes.
Flight of success is continuously filling since 2019
The first unmanned flight of this capsule took place on 2 March 2019. The first manned flight took place on 20 May 2020. The first cargo flight took place on 6 December 2020. It is usually launched with the Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket of SpaceX. It adds 2563 kg fuel to reach the space station and return.
