UP government’s big decision, CBCID renamed CID – Name change of UP Police CBCID Wing Now as CID
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has changed the name of Crime Branch, Crime Research Department (CBCID) to Crime Research Department (CID). In the order issued by the Home (Police) Department of the State Government, it has been clarified that from now on CBCID will be known as CID. This name change will be applicable with immediate effect.

According to the order signed by Rakesh Kumar Malpani, Special Secretary, Home Department, this change will be effective from 16 March 2025.
