Former BJP MLA Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion got bail from the court on Tuesday after being in judicial custody for more than a month. He was accused of firing at the office of Independent MLA Umesh Kumar of Khanpur.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, on 26 January, the champions and his supporters opened fire at Umesh Kumar’s office located in the irrigation department premises. However, Umesh Kumar was not present in the office at the time of the incident. In this case, the champion was accused of attacking, abusing and threatening to kill him. After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against him in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court.
How to get bail?
Champion’s lawyer Rakesh Singh said that after the allegation of attempt to murder (Section 109 BNS), the way for his bail was cleared. Two bonds of Rs 50,000 will have to be filled for bail, after which he will be released from jail late on Wednesday.
Treatment is going on in hospital
After the arrest, the champion and 5 of his supporters were sent to jail on 27 January. Due to deteriorating health in the jail, he was admitted to Haridwar District Hospital, where he is still undergoing treatment.
